Youtube Channel | First Vlog

25 Nov 2014

So people,

After much debate with myself whether I should or shouldn't make videos and post them in Youtube, I finally came to the conclusion of the simple "Why not" statement. I think is a cool way to interact with so many people, make your voice to be heard and just form an amazing community in where you can exchange ideas, opinions with people from around the world and hopefully make a change someday somehow.

I was always scared of creating a Youtube channel. I hate to admit it but I sadly do care tons of what others think of me. Always. Confidence for me does not come easy and its a constant struggle to find a bit of it and believe in myself. And by creating a youtube channel, that would mean lots of hate, lots of judging and criticizing of "why is she doing this? She sucks", lots of cyberbullying. But challenge would not be a challenge if there are no risks.

I recorded my first vlog yesterday when I went to the supermarket and the mall with my roommate. The quality is horrible and since I recorded with my Iphone, the video came out vertically. Most of the times I had NO idea what I was gonna say, and I repeated my words so.many.times. People stared at us because it wasn't only me who was talking to my phone, but my roommate also decided to create a Youtube channel, so it was the both of us. It was fun.

There are so many youtubers that inspired me by how much they are accomplishing and making a change. There is the youtube cute couple, Zoella and Pointless blog who their book just came out (they didnt write a book together, they have separate ones), and Zoe appeared in Vogue! How cool is that? There is JacksGap, who travel around the world and make awareness of different charities which I had donated  to some of them previously thanks to Jacksgap channel. O2l, Marcus Butler, so many more!

You guys are more than welcome to leave comments on what would you be interesting in watching (I need ideas because honestly I am so lost)

Make up trends 2014

20 Nov 2014

I am completely, extremely, undoubtedly LOVING the make-up trends for this season. Why is that you may ask? Is everything I wish for in a make-up world: Effortless and natural. I am not a big fan of using make-up (with the exception of lipsticks, I have a huge obsession with lipsticks), so this trend is perfect for me, and of course, for anyone who shares my dislike. It's also very efficient for when you are running late in the mornings because you woke up late. You barely put anything. If you have perfect skin then you don't even need to use foundation, just add some lipgloss or very natural lipstick colors, a bit of bronze eyeshadow and mascara (which is optional) if you are feeling flirty and you are ready to go! That simple.

Keeping the base idea of natural, if you want more action in your face, you can also go for the trend of metallic colors as adding some eyeliner in blue, yellow, brown shades, but of course in a metallic range.

You can also add some berry color to your lips if you don't really like to have the look of natural lips. It's a very simple trick. What I personally do is, I take my red-ish lipsticks and apply very gently to my lips and then with my fingers I spread them around. For a final touch of glimmer I add a bit of lipgloss, not too much though because it would be too overweighted.

Now, if you are absolutely the opposite of me and are absolutely hating this "natural" trend because you love your make-up to be bold, do not worry! There are other options to go for:

However its still in the base of "natural" look if you look closer. It's not something that is extremely over charged on make-up. It switches to either the eyes or lips being the main focus of bold colors. If there is a combination of both, its keeping that light, natural, effortless look overall.

Remember that in fashion, trends come and go, but style remains. So, if you are not really "digging" this trend for this season, you do you sistah. Just keep rocking your own personal style of makeup. No one will judge. Just because you are not following a trend does not mean you are not "in" ;)

Fall/Winter favorites

17 Nov 2014

Who doesn't like online shopping? Sure it does have its negative aspects like, you never know if the items you bought will fit you or not, but it is so exciting to go receive mail and huge packages filled with clothes and shoes <3 Its like giving a gift to yourself. Plus, its faster because you get to click on links, chose and go to the basket: Done. I find it more efficient than to physically go to a store to do shopping. The big dissatisfaction though is that the models that wear the clothes are way different than you (or maybe they are exactly the same, in that case, congrats). I'm very short, meaning, short legs. So its hell to buy pants, leggins, even dresses. Don't even get me started in shoes. They look absolutely stunning on those models, but when you buy it and receive it, try them on, noup. Not the same. At all.

And Im broke, very very broke. Last year was all about clothing, but this semester was all about food. That doesn't mean though that I completely stopped from looking through online shopping websites. I pretend that they are all mine and think "which one should I wear tomorrow? What will match with this dress?" Its such a torture because this season there are so many cute clothing items, accessories and boots. The coats are THE IT thing for me now. I NEED the ones that are pastel colors! They will look beautiful with some blue jeans, black boots and a stripped sweater. So, since I cannot absolutely put any of these items in my basket, at least I will pick some of my favorites and write a post about it? (Pretending that they will magically appear in my closet, fingers crossed)

Let it out Time

12 Nov 2014

Hi internet people!

Its been quite a while since I've written anything in the blog, and to say "I was busy" would be a lie. I've been having horrible grades in my English papers for my class which is a bit discouraging and so I felt uninspired and so now I would like to apologize for my lack of writing skills to you guys. Its really difficult to write a paper, whyyyyyyy?! The most difficult part is to organize all of the ideas you have in your head into coherent paragraphs (the word "coherent" is very important, apparently.) There is just so much that I still need to learn, and its hard when you have people around you that can do it but you can't. However, what most people do in these situations is to compare themselves and think that others are better than you. Wrong! What you should be doing is:

* Take a breath.
* Ignore everyone else.
* Focus on you and only you.

The funny thing here is that I'm writing these "advices" while I don't even follow them myself. That's why I MUST listen to myself. Focus on myself, listen to what I have to say. Stop listening to what others want me to be or do (in case if it is your teacher then you do have to listen).

Having a blog, for me, its like a place in where I can have my own voice and be projected to myself, and hopefully to some of you guys out there. I don't even know if anyone really reads my post and think "Oh! I totally relate to her!" or "Thats a good idea" (which I would love to know if you guys leave comments ;) ) My blog is like my happy place, my quiet and relaxed place. Its what I like to do and (this might sound stupid and obvious) lately I realized that we are at out best when we are doing things we enjoy and that makes us happy.

I'm saying this because life is hard. Life really is not easy. And there might be times that we lose track of our interest and goals. Saying no to drugs not only applies to, well, the real drugs but it can also be seen as a metaphor into so many things as being hooked on netflix or video games. Sure they are hella fun, I won't lie, but what good does it bring us? It doesn't really feed onto our skills to prepare for our future and goals. I am not saying that we should stop altogether watching netflix or play video games (two things I do most, btw, did you guys know that you can play Just Dance with your iPhone?), but anything in excess is bad.

Laziness is my biggest enemy right now. Laziness and paying attention to what others think about me. Like, to the point I stop in being myself. And what scares me the most is that right now Im not living MY life, to the way I want to be, and sometime it might end. Just like that.

We have so many second chances but in life sadly we only have one, and its going by so quickly. I mean? November already?? 2015?? what? Soon enough I will be out of college and never come back. Ever. I will move onto the next phase, ready or not, because life waits for no one.

This was a reallyyyy random post, sorry about that, but yeah... life is...something. It's just nice to sometimes be reminded that we should spend more of our time doing things we enjoy.

Enjoy this picture in order to compensate the time lost.
